Haven’t slept a wink? Well, that’s what happens when you watch your favorite team pick the player you felt since Day 1 would be the dream selection for them … and then watch them promptly trade him away. Yes, the Rockets picked Rudy Gay at #8, but they quickly packaged him, along with Stromile Swift, to the Grizzlies for Shane Battier. Clutch likes Battier, but didn’t like the price they paid nor the short-term thinking used. The pick-and-deal wasn’t the only activity for the Rockets, who drafted sharpshooting forward Steve Novak at #32 and struck a deal at #44 with the Orlando Magic in order to get Lior Eliyahu.
