"They will ALWAYS persecute you because of me…"
“In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived (2 Timothy 3:12-13).”
USA TODAY’s editorial calls “intelligent design” “creationism with clever new packaging.” It would be an understatement to say this view is close-minded and ignorant. Creationism and intelligent design are not the same; their arguments do differ.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you (Matthew 5:10-12).
Why does USA TODAY think Dover’s citizens, who voted out eight of nine school board members who had backed a statement regarding intelligent design, are wiser than Kansas school board members? The Kansas school board voted to give kids an option to study the different views of how our universe was created or evolved. I’d argue that this will make Kansas students better thinkers and allow them to make decisions on their own.]
Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also (John 15:20).
USA TODAY says evolution is the ‘foundation for biology.‘ But a theory is only speculation. Therefore, to say a theory is foundational seems a little oxymoronic, and not a very sturdy foundation.
We are all free to feel, believe, worship and do as we please, basically. However, we will all answer for our lives one day – we will all stand accountable. For now, I allow this anti-God mindframe to infest me knowing all along that it will not infect me. We will always be persecuted because of the single name – JESUS. That name strikes terror, fear, hatred, love, compassion, etc…but it strikes something in ALL who exist on this planet – period! It always has and it always will. And when you truly reflect on it – it’s remarkable the lengths that people will go to disassociate themselves with Him. John 18:15-18, 25-27
Seriously, people who do not have faith in Jesus Christ as the son of God RUN from him at all times. If you make a movie about Jesus being a sinner, having sex, being married, etc…you can get ANY STUDIO IN HOLLYWOOD to fund that picture. But, if you make a religous film AND you’re one of the biggest stars in Hollywood BUT….BUT….BUT….BUT….you speak of Jesus
THEY WILL OSTRICIZE YOU!!
Mel Gibson probably has an opinion on that.
Yet, as a Christian, I need to remember that I am NEVER to be offended, never to be distraught over this, never to feel neglected, dismissed, rebuked, looked down upon – never feel slighted because of my faith. HEY! If they need God out of the pledge, well….so be it, right? They can take away every right that I have as a Christian and nobody will care how we feel….
…and I wouldn’t have it any other way! We have what we need. We have our gift. We have our salvation!
“Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has now become the capstone”.
